Veterinary Chiropractic
Veterinary Acupuncture
Animal acupuncture may only be administered by qualified veterinary surgeons.
Acupuncture stimulates the body’s repair mechanisms in the nervous system and immune system as well as hormonal and cellular repair systems.
Acupuncture may be used in addition to conventional medicine and may help to reduce the dosage required. Sometimes it is very effective on its own as a treatment. It is safe, effective and accepted well by most animals.
Treatments last about 30 minutes. Alan will advise on requirements for follow-up treatments.

Acupuncture on toes
It may help the following medical conditions:
- Chronic pain

- Kidney/Bladder conditions
- Incontinence
Veterinary Homeopathy
See Alan Slater: Homeopath & Homeopathy for further information on General Homeopathy.
30 minutes is allocated for a homeopathic consultation although many of the animal clientele prefer to be out the door before the time is up!
Homeopathy can work with all conditions. It is particularly helpful in managing old-age and terminal complaints. It may be used alongside conventional medicine.
Kinesiology and Food/Environment Intolerance Testing
See Creative Kinesiology and Intolerance Testing.
When applied to animals muscle testing will be done on the owner. They will act as a surrogate by retaining contact with their pet throughout the procedure.
Any intolerances (NOT ALLERGIES) are treated using homeopathy and nutritional advice.
Testimonials
Alan Slater is a very kind, caring vet. We have used him regularly for homeopathic treatment over ten years. The care and understanding he gives the animals is outstanding. He has seen us through some traumatic events but has never pressurised us. The animal’s welfare is his prime concern and we have ultimate faith in him.

Alan has treated my two Labradors over many years and both have improved from his knowledge of homeopathy. They have had long healthy lives and this has given me peace of mind. Thank you Alan.

Alan not only treats animals with amazing results – he has a great affinity with them and they love him and feel comforted and happy seeing him. He also understands the traumas that owners go through when their beloved pets are sick – most definitely worth a long car journey to get there.

Our 4-year-old cat was very overweight and lazy and didn’t eat a great amount (although he likes his food). He could run very fast when he wanted to and had lost a lot of fur on his side. After about 6 months our cat is still fairly big but it’s all muscle. He is very contented, purry and all his fur has grown back (Alan said it would take about 16 weeks and it did). He will be 7 this September and does not have to take any medication at all.

Alan’s been treating my animals successfully since the ’80s when I had a pony with Cushings; subsequently various dogs and cats and small furries have prospered for which his expertise in homeopathy has been much appreciated. Now it’s my turn to receive homeopathic treatment from him for rheumatoid arthritis. I’ve always valued his holistic approach. I have no hesitation in recommending him to my friends or anyone viewing this site.
